I want to give a special thanks to Matt Orio at Water Energy Distributors, Inc. for working with me on my geothermal heating and cooling system. I have known Matt for about 6 years. I worked with him on another project and could not wait until I had a project of my own. Finally that time came when I decided to build my second house. After looking at all of the technology for an HVAC system, I decided to work with Matt. After numerous phone calls, asking questions and getting educated, Matt proved time and time again that a ground source heat pump was the only way to go. During the two years of reserch, many people told me that a system like this was very expensive and would never produce the results they claim. Matt assured me that when a system is properly designed and installed, his calculations of annual costs for a geothermal heat pump would be spot on in terms of annual cost for heating/cooling and hot water. I am here to say that after two years running, Matt was correct and almost to the penny as far as costs. Every month I am amazed at how low the bills are. When I tell people what the monthly costs are, they look at me like I have two heads. These costs savings will go on for the life of the house, not to mention how much better this system is on the environment.
