What is the difference? The difference between the two is the price you pay is a one time amount, the cost is calculated every day you own the the home. When purchasing a home, most people only consider the price of the home and evaluate their buying on that amount. With today’s energy cost, you must evaluate the cost of the home every day you own it. If this home was made to code, with a standard heating and cooling system, you would be looking at paying over $15,000 in heating/cooling and hot water costs at today’s 2008 prices. Now mind you, this is at today’s pricing, and we know that gas and oil is not going down. With total heating/cooling and hot water costs over the past 2 years with a family of 5 living year round, this house costs us under $1,900.00/year. That means I have saved over $13,000.00 a year that I did not have to earn or pay taxes on. Look at it this way, the money you will save on HVAC costs alone will almost pay the taxes every year. How many houses can say that! I know this sounds to good to be true, but it is not. I have over two years of documentation to back it up. This house was put into the PSNH Smart Rate program, they are tracking my results as well. for further information. please do not hesitate to email dritchie@10DrummerTrail.com or call 603.527.2655.
